After the Burn Comes the Growth

This past weekend, I was in Malibu for one of life’s greatest moments—my daughter’s college graduation.
It was an incredible celebration. Not just of a degree, but of the journey.
Over her four years at school, she walked through some tough seasons. One of them was the California wildfires. I remember how devastating that was, how much it seemed like everything around her was crumbling.
But here’s what hit me hardest this weekend:
Everything had burned… yet it was the greenest I’ve ever seen it.
Fields once scorched by flames are now rich with new life. Vibrant. Lush. Almost unreal.
And that’s when the deeper truth sank in:
After the burn is the best time for growth.
When fire strips away the old, it clears space for the new.
When your life feels like it’s been scorched, you’re not finished—you’re just being refined.
🔥 Here are 6 growth lessons from the burn:
Destruction isn’t the end—it’s a reset.
Sometimes what’s removed is what was holding you back.Nature doesn’t resist the fire—it uses it.
What if you could use adversity the same way?Growth doesn’t wait for perfect conditions.
It starts as soon as there’s space to breathe.Scars don’t mean you’re weak—they prove you survived.
And surviving gives you power.Stay long enough to witness the green.
Don’t quit before the beauty comes.Everything great starts underground.
Roots deepen long before fruit appears.
Whether you’re walking through fire right now or coming out of a storm, remember:
This might just be your season for wild growth.
