Koi Poke Sells 6 Of 7 Valley Locations To Group Led By Former D-Backs Pitcher

PHOENIX — A Scottsdale-based poke restaurant has sold all but one of its locations to a national franchising group led by a former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher.

Koi Poke announced Tuesday the sale of six locations to a private equity group led by Todd Stottlemyre, who pitched for the team in the early 2000s.

The six locations will also get a rebrand in 2020 and will be named Koibito Poke, according to a press release.

Founder Sarah Bowers will retain ownership of the Koi Poke location at DC Ranch Crossing in north Scottsdale, the restaurant’s flagship location.

“I am so proud of everyone at Koi Poke that worked so hard to make this happen and I am thrilled that Todd and his group are going to take what we have created and make it a national brand,” Bowers said in the release.

“At the same time, I am also committed to maintaining the integrity of the original concept at DC Ranch and continue to serve all of our amazing and loyal guests that have been with us from the very beginning.”

Stottlemyre’s group is taking over the restaurants in Arcadia, Scottsdale and Chandler plus two set to open soon in Peoria and north Phoenix.
